Mr Hogan says - "The protections that we are going to maintain here, and the regulations, ensure a commitment from the providers, from the financial planners, to lift their professional, ethical and educational standards. Again, the balance is in the red tape, not penalising."

The road to hell is littered with 'commitment' from the provider as well as self-regulation. About as effective as hiring a burglar to install your security system!
