I am sure all members will be aware that this week is Legacy Week. Legacy raises important funds in order to provide much-needed support for widows and children of deceased military service members. At a time when we have lost 41 servicemen in Afghanistan, support for these families grows even more important. Caring for families of service men and women is the least we can do to thank them and repay them for their service to the nation. Across my electorate, schools such as Cherrybrook Public School, Mount St Benedict at Pennant Hills, Cheltenham Girls High School and Galston High School are selling badges at train stations, shopping centres and their schools. Other schools, such as my own, Barker, and my daughters', Abbotsleigh, and Asquith boys and girls schools, which I used to represent, are actively involved. I thank them for the support that they are giving to Legacy.
