by leave—This afternoon there was a division on Senator Ludwig’s motion to vary the hours of meeting and routine of business. Senator Xenophon wished for his vote to be recorded, although he was not here to be paired. He was not paired. He indicated his support for the government motion. His pairing would not have affected the result, but I should indicate to the chamber that that was his wish and that is the way he would have wished to vote on that motion.
